How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Coordinator II, Tourism and Staff Development, the Coordinator, Digital Media Strategies and Marketing is responsible for the planning, implementation and coordination of digital media marketing strategies for TRCA’s Parks and Culture division and TRCA’s Humber Watershed. Working under the professional direction of TRCA’s Marketing Team, the Coordinator I, Digital Media Strategies and Marketing develops long-range marketing plans to expand TRCA’s digital reach and grow the profile of TRCA’s public-use facilities and outdoor attractions.

The Coordinator I, Digital Media Strategies and Marketing demonstrates a thorough understanding of TRCA’s audience segments, utilizes a variety of social media platforms and marketing tools, and applies best practices in content development and communications to achieve these goals. The Coordinator I, Digital Media Strategies and Marketing also provides ongoing oversight and support to The Living City Foundation as well as to Black Creek Pioneer Village social media staff in the use of digital media marketing strategies. Ultimately, this position is responsible for maintaining brand positioning for multiple TRCA units through the strategic use of digital media.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead Toronto and Region Conservation Authority social media strategy and pages including day-to-day scheduling (via Sprout). Management of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin along with the development, implementation, and evaluation (including analyzing social media analytic reports) of all social media content.
  • Plan, develop, write, evaluate and execute a social media content calendar along with crafting daily key messages in collaboration with team members and with coordination from all TRCA departments.
  • Engage with social media followers and monitor questions, and comments providing a response in a timely manner.
  • Develop, organize, manage, analyze, and report on social media advertising campaigns for all TRCA social media channels.
  • Plan and create social media graphics, images, and video content for different social media platforms using Canva and other social media software in accordance with TRCA graphic design policy and with guidance from the Graphic Design team.
  • Create Biweekly content for the Board of Directors and TRCA staff to share.
  • Research digital trends and new platforms for content sharing to allow for further engagement opportunities on our social channels.

What will you need to succeed:

  • Marketing or Communications Diploma
  • 3-5 years experience
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license is preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent digital media editing tools is a plus
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools like Adobe Premiere or Canva
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
  • Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
