Associate Director, Marketing Solutions

Insider is hiring an Associate Director, Marketing Solutions to join as a key leader of our Marketing Solutions team to drive revenue growth and client engagement, oversee a team within one of our core verticals, create compelling marketing collateral, and act as a thought leader in the respective category.

The Role & Team:

As an Associate Director of Marketing Solutions you will serve as the strategic lead for the vertical, partnering closely with the Sales VP, developing a marketing strategy to grow key categories. You will also strategize, enable, and execute the vertical’s revenue goals/growth plans with cross-functional leads across the Ad team — e.g., Sales VP, GASPY, CSM — on a regular basis.

This role reports directly to the Director of Marketing Solutions. This role will be remote-friendly with Eastern Time office hours. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a masterful storyteller, combining data, content and narratives to create compelling marketing materials to excite customers. Specific responsibilities include developing and maintaining marketing collateral with stakeholders to generate proactive/reactive revenue, innovative ideas/products, and increased client engagement.
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership to develop key initiatives designed to increase revenue opportunities, establish positioning, and drive awareness of the Insider brand with strong messaging and differentiation in the industry and category. This includes regular planning and conceptualizing strategic client activations with team leads under Marketing to develop 360 programming for tent-poles inclusive of events, research, and brand communications.
  • Formulate and provide strategic leadership, creative insight, and relevant editorial IP / programming to drive cohesive momentum on key accounts. Partner with Sales VPs and other stakeholders to identify and align on key accounts.This includes developing relevant editorial/content/product packaging that aligns with key industry initiatives.
  • Develop value propositions, narratives and messaging that resonate with our various audiences across categories and the industry – deliverables can look like category GPs, industry trend overviews, thought leadership presentations, sell sheets, RFP playbooks, and a library of go to market materials for the category.
  • Develop and manage presentation content for external speaking engagements.
  • Manage day-to-day pre-sales efforts (i.e. Proactive pitches, RFIs, RFPs), coming in as player coach on key accounts, projects, or proposals. This includes managing and coaching marketers within your vertical, highlighting stand out opportunities, liaising with SMEs to develop supporting materials and working cross-functionally.
  • Ideate and execute culture initiatives with engaging programming to inspire teams. Highlight outstanding work /best practices and actively contribute to development of Marketing All Hands agendas, and other larger Ad team-wide gatherings to elevate Marketing Solutions’ presence and industry expertise within org.
  • Manage, analyze and optimize the results of our impact across all initiatives.
  • Regular communication with senior partners/supervisor for alignment on priorities, roadmap, strategic framework.
  • Collaborate with Strategy Leads, Sales VPs, GASPY, CSM, Product Marketing, Ad Product Innovation, Special Projects (editorial liaison), Content Producers to increase efficiencies and drive better impact.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Experience in marketing or advertising, preferably at a high-growth company, with people managing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience liaising with senior leadership and presenting to clients/agencies
  • An action oriented leader who can think and act both strategically and tactically to execute projects
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems drawing on best practices and creative strategies
  • Positive attitude and can-do, solutions-oriented approach required
  • Detail oriented with ability to anticipate needs, innovate, and multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Knowledge of and willingness to be involved in the post-sales process

Salary & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $130,000 – $147,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
  • Annual bonus based on revenue and personal goals
