About you:

You are a passionate, solution-oriented, and goal-orientated team-player who is a strong communicator and possesses thorough knowledge of both conventional and CMHC commercial mortgages/financings across various real estate asset classes in the Canadian marketplace. You’re an organized customer service superstar, and enjoy developing and implementing strategic plans to grow the Peoples Trust conventional and CMHC loan portfolio, manage and strengthen client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver on client expectations and company results.

About you / qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or Business Administration is preferred
• MBA, CPA/CMA and/or CFA is considered an asset
• Oral and written proficiency in French is a must
• 3-5 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate Financing including experience in originating, structuring, underwriting and executing conventional construction and bridge loans across various asset classes, in addition to land loans and CMHC-insured term and construction loans.
• Strong Commercial Real Estate Mortgage underwriting skills are a must have
• Understanding of current AML and KYC requirements with respect to Commercial Real Estate Mortgages/Financings
• Strong customer service and business development skills
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Experience managing large-account loan portfolios and building client relationship
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint and CRM software
• Highly organized, solution-oriented, and goal-oriented
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure in a team environment.

About the day-to-day:

• Working with and supporting the Regional Vice President and Assistant Vice President in all aspects of running the Commercial Mortgage division covering the Eastern Canadian marketplace for Peoples Trust
• The origination and underwriting of CMHC insured multi-family loan proposals for both construction and term mortgages
• The origination and underwriting of conventional loan proposals for construction, land and bridge loans across various asset classes
• Preparation, in conjunction with an assigned Real Estate Analyst of direct CMHC applications for loan insurance
• Preparation, in conjunction with an assigned Real Estate Analyst of internal credit application submissions to Peoples Trusts’ Credit Committee
• Working closely with the Mortgage Administration team in the funding of all assigned loans
• Providing leadership and direction to an assigned Real Estate Analyst and Underwriting Assistant
• Active marketing and business development to continue the growth of the Eastern Canadian CMHC/Conventional loan portfolio.
